Ray stated:
"Mr. Kaplan should be very proud of his father lying on his immigration
application in the 1920s in order to be able to apply for Social Security
benefits early.
Since Social Security was not created until ten years later, Mr. Kaplan's
father is the first documented case of clairvoyance in the history of
mankind. This is wonderful news. When can we expect the book?"

My response:
I am sorry that I was not very clear about my comments. I never knew that
my Dad had lied about his age and/or why he lied. It became obvious when he
passed away and my Mom applied for Social Security benefits and their record
indicated that there was a discrepency between his reported age and his
actual age.
I assummed he lied when he entered the country and maintained this lie to
the government, but his family knew the truth. Thus getting Social Security
benefits for my Mom became a slight problem.

I really do not appreciate this cynicism or sarcastic comments.

As far as Omar's lies, his background and fears would have played a
critical role in his behavior in front of the government or friends. Lately
I am not sure whom to trust to be telling the truth about everything. We
all learn from our mistakes, that is if we admit to making them.
