List, Anyone interested in helping the Nokomis neighbors save Wenonah School ...please send Kevin Halbach at [EMAIL PROTECTED] an e-mail by Friday or come to a Public Input Meeting on Wednesday, January 19th at Sanford Middle School 3524 42nd Ave. South at 6:30 to discuss a plan to pair Wenonah and Keewaydin.
The School Board had wanted to close Wenonah and combine it with Keewaydin...there is a slight problem .... Keewaydin has room for about 250 from Wenonah....so the other 150 children need to just disappear. I guess this is what they call *Community Building * in Minneapolis since some families have already pulled out and have gone to Richfield ..however, some of the parents have come up with a workable plan. One school would be a K-5 and the other as a middle school. Morris Park was closed last year so these are the last two for a community that is fast changing to a younger community because of affordable housing, parks, good transit, and a library that last year had a juvenile circulation of 102,500 books! The last money spent on the schools was NRP money through Nena for a Media Lab. some time ago. Thanks for any support given... Dorie Rae Gallagher/CAN Nokomis REMINDERS: 1.
