So, in sum of all these issues related to Minneapolis park warming house
closures, let me see if I can get this straight:

1. It was simply too cold to have a WARMING house(s) open? Did I really hear
this correctly? I'd like to hope in July it will be too hot to have the air
conditioners on in the MPRB offices.

2. According to Ms. Titus, quoted below "Theodore Wirth Park had closed down
its activities because it was deemed too cold for people to be out sledding
and tubing in sub-zero weather." Is this to say that the City of
Minneapolis, in it's benevolence to my own greater good, deemed it in my
best interest to stay inside because it was just too darned cold outside,
and made sure I did so by closing those structures that exist to make me
warm when it's so darned cold outside? God bless the city of Minneapolis for
once again knowing what's best for me. >wiping tears of thanks away before
they freeze<

3. In terms of liability concerns posited by Mr. Plante, I believe: the way
I see it is this: somebody's gonna sue if the warming shacks are open.
Somebody's gonna sue because they're closed and they freeze their tootsies
on the sliding hill. I would actually think the exposure to liability (no
pun intended) is greater (in this nobody to blame for their own ignornace
culture of ours) when warming shacks are closed on particularly cold days,
when the common assumption to the citizens is that they are open BECAUSE
IT'S COLD OUTSIDE!

It is decisions like this that leave me wondering who really is at control
of the wheel of this city and if there is ANY common sense left here at all.
