Yeah, that'd be a great idea to have referendums on all taxes.  It seems to
me that it'd be a good idea to give decision-making power to the masses as
often as possible.  I think people should have the right to run their own
lives; and that includes the right to make bad decisions on their own taxes.
We've had enough bad decisions made by the political elite; maybe we
peasants should have the same opportunity.  It isn't practical for
everything to be decided directly by the people -- but it's a good idea when
it's possible.  Bringing the decision-making as close to the people as
possible is called democracy.
