This reminds me, what is the meaning behind the different colored street signs? Minneapolis is the only city that I can think of off hand with them? Does it mean something like this :

   blue = main through street
   green = general street
   brown = dead end street

I thought there was a system to them based on the colors. Thank you!

Here it comes again! The first real plowable snowfall, enough for the City
to call a Snow Emergency.
I wonder how many will be shown on TV picking up their cars at the Impound
Lot?
It's really simple how Minneapolis has marked all the streets for snow
emergencies. They're marked in two ways. All streets bearing blue colored
street signs are Snow Emergency Routes. They are also marked with snow
emergency signs.
The blue street signs are the easiest to identify.
The city begins plowing at 9PM tonight and continues all night until 8AM.
Why motorists cannot understand that has always been a mystery to me.

Subject: [Mpls] City declares snow emergency

Today is January 21, 2005 and Minneapolis has declared a Snow Emergency.

 Parking restrictions begin at 9 p.m. tonight.

Go to the City's web site (http://www.ci.minneapolis.mn.us/snow/) for
information; or call the Snow Emergency Hotline: (612) 348-SNOW (7669).

Crews can only plow the full width of the street if cars are out of the
way. Please follow Snow Emergency parking rules or your vehicle will be
tagged and/or towed to the Minneapolis Impound Lot.

 Be sure to shovel your sidewalks and around your garbage cart.
