Mike Nelson asks how many undocumented immigrants are counted in the
census.  I do not have an overall answer.  But I can tell you that the
range of academic estimates that I reviewed in 2001, anticipating the
release of the 2000 count, was that Latinos are undercounted by anywhere
from 4 to 50 percent.  If that is applied to the Minnepaolis Latino
population as recorded by the 2000 census, that would add anywhere from
1,200 to 14,000 residents.
