[Brown wrote] Levels of distortion only seen on Wednesday night television need
to be rebutted:

We should remember that in Minneapolis the TIF tap has been pretty much
cut off. Gone are the days when every downtown project had a subsidy. A good part of the reason is that those responsible for The Great TIF
Grab were voted out of office (remember SSB, Cherryhomes, Campbell), a
couple of others took up temporary residence in a federal housing
program.

[Johnson writes] I would like some facts to support the notion that "the
TIF tap has been pretty much cut off."

It is a verifiable fact that Rep. Clark introduced in the MN Legislature
on 20Jan05 a bill (HF342) removing the time limit on TIF districts in
Minneapolis.

Seems to be some worry that the TIF boondoggle in Minneapolis might be
coming to an end (I believe in 2009!), so the troops must be mustered to keep it on track.

Other comments from me and others on Brown's rebuttal may be forthcoming.
And I am a loyal South Park fan.
