While this thread is discussing what it takes to get students to learn, I happened to stumble upon an interesting article. It's at:

It's interesting because it's the teachers themselves speaking about what it takes to get kids to successfully learn. It's not directly on point, but it's still interesting. (And it's from Des Moines, so it's not prejudiced by Minneapolis politics.)

And, BTW, we should probably all apologize to Doug Grow that this thread has become named after him.
