The neighborhood activists, who hustle out to neighborhood association
meetings, think they know best for the 99% of residents who aren't there,
viz., the General Bullmoose syndrome.

Me:
Without reference to any particular activist, what Bob wrote may very well
be true.  I don't think the answer is to make the activist any less active,
but for the rest of us to get out and do more for the community.  I saw a
great bumper sticker once: "The world is run by those who show up."
