My (probably ) last post on this topic:

Looks like there's some diversity of opinion on this issue, but overall most
list members support it, aside from the one who thought we were "whining."
Whatever.

Today I spoke on the phone to Lt. Gregory Reinhart of the MPD. He detailed
to me the city's plan to install 16 red light cameras this summer. I will
not post the details of the deployment plan, I'll leave that to him. He said
the deployment plan will be announced soon, on the city website. What I will
say is this: his plan is solid, ethical, and based on common sense.

I also want to say this: Lt. Reinhart is a consummate professional. He knows
his stuff, is very well spoken as to the camera plan, and has many facts and
figures to support his ideas. He spent a lot of time with me on the phone,
and I know he cares about this issue of safety. He obviously has researched
this area and is using the data in a responsible and fair manner. I am proud
that he is a member of the MPD.
