Congratulations to DFL SD60 on their very well run mayoral forum last night.
I'd eyeball the surprisingly large crowd at around 600. Moderator Kerri
Miller did a great job, especially when she veered from the established
format in the interest of clarity. The theme of the forum was pretty much
about public safety and how to pay for it.

The candidates both looked and sounded good. We have two big league,
experienced pols in this race and they were well briefed. I expect their
positions to take on a little more weight and substance as the campaigns
continue.

Like a lot of folks I am as yet undecided in this race. Last night's forum
did not sway me either way. I am still waiting for the candidates to answer
the question, "What are you gonna do for us?"

I was disappointed when so many young people in RT-shirts actually hissed
when P McL spoke. It is up to the candidate to set the tone for his
campaign. These young people need to be mentored about respectful discourse.
Allowing your supporters to malign your opponent while you stay beatifically
pure would be as unspeakable as trying to credit for other people's work.

Let's keep it real.

Yours,
