Greetings mnforum.org list members.

My name is Joe Kaju and I am a 13-year city employee of the
Minneapolis Park Board and Minneapolis Public Library. During my
tenure, I have seen the remarked decline of support by the City
Council for these excellent Boards. It is my sincere hope that
through the democratic process we can have more support for the Park
and Library Boards by the City Council. This is why I am writing to
voice my endorsement of Elizabeth Glidden for the City Council eighth
ward seat.

First, I have never endorsed anyone in the political
process before. The reason being, I am quite meticulous about the
candidate having a truly outstanding character and reputation. In my
assessment, character and personal ethics are the most important
qualities any political candidate must possess. Leaders must hold
themselves to the highest standards of ethics in order to be trusted
by the public. During the last nine years I have known Liz, I cannot
think of another person I have met who has more honesty and integrity
needed to perform as a City Council member. She is a dedicated
employment and discrimination attorney that truly understands the
needs of emigrants and new Americans.

The City of Minneapolis is truly a multicultural place.
It is going to continue to have immigrants coming into the city. We
need more City Council members that understand and can relate to these
demographic changes. Liz has volunteered many hours helping
immigrants through the Minnesota Advocates for Human Rights. Rather
than cover her entire resume. I invite you to learn more yourself.
Please go to www.elizabethglidden.com. If you know individuals in the
eighth ward, please encourage them to learn more about Liz. Let us
keep ethics and integrity in our elected City Council members.

Thank you,

Joe Kaju
