*Thanks for the history lesson Scott...I have seen the markings along the trail but did not know anything about Winchell. I know you are running for Park Board and it seems that someone who has so much of an interest, knowledge, a love for the environment, and business sense should be someone on the board. I believe Erwin mentioned writing was important...how many of our current members really have all these qualifications and the interest/love enough to write about the Parks and it's history. Perhaps this will be the year where voters will chose people with qualifications that matter and not because of name or party. I am sadden to see Commissioner Mason leaving ....she is a very smart, honest person and expected things to be run in a professional manner only to be pounded into plup by the lesser. But this is an election year and everyone lately has been at their very best behavior, very visible, very nice...ummm! To all the new people running for library board, council, park board, whatever...change is good, give the incumbents a run for their money, their positions, and make them work for it! Good luck! dorie gallagher nokomis REMINDERS: 1. Be civil! Please read the NEW RULES at http://www.e-democracy.org/rules.
