I actually got to caucus this eve, having at the last minute found child care to find:

1. Our ward convention is on a SERIOUS Jewish festival (kind of like scheduling it for easter sunday morning) which is also the sabbath....of course nobody considered whether this mught serve to exclude folks. It is on Day 7 of Passover, which date is not exactly a secret, and could have been checked if folks really chose to abide by the DFL's claimed inclusivity standards.

2. Turnout was dismal. Our precinct had 42 delegate slots, and only around 30 folks showed up.

3. When I asked about child care at conventions there was of course none arranged. See preivous note on inclusivity....how can traditionally underrepresented low income single parents participate without somewhere to have their kids be cared for? I find it morally inconsistent for a party that lobbies for increased child care etc as policy to not consider it in its own events.

4. I was the only participant who had even brought a resolution to propose (about continuation of NRP, of long discussion in this forum), so at least we all got home pretty early.
