I think the green light is given far too long a time for east bound traffic across Hiawatha and the green turn arrows for east bound turning north are largely not needed at all. I sit for what seems like 5 minutes at each light along Hiawatha and watch as the intersections are not used after the initial 3 or 4 east/west cars pass by. I would think the length of this light could be shortened before any hard-wired sensors in the track are moved. The light for east/west travel doesn't need to be green until just before the train passes.

Ray Marshall is correct about the left turn arrows for south bound turning east... they are currently a drag. A solution I think would be to move them from the beginning of the green light cycle to the end of the cycle. I have observed this left turn lane with few cars in it while people wanting to use it couldn't enter into the lane because traffic was backed up. By the time they can enter the lane the arrow is gone and they have to wait a full light cycle. This adjustment would also allow northbound to proceed sooner.
