Just a question (I e-mailed a similar question to the Minnesota chapter of
this organization, but they never responded):

How does restricting legal gun ownership for law abiding citizens (via
repealment of the MPPA, or whatever will pass for the MPPA next session, and
something the Minnesota "million moms" supports) make the streets any safer?

Legal gun owners are not the problem, criminals are.

If the "million moms" would spend 1/10th the energy working on reducing
crime as they do trying to keep trained, law-abiding citizens from having
firearms for personal protection, everybody would be better off. Of course,
KARE-11 wouldn't cover that.

> Tomorrow, on Tuesday, March 15th at noon, the bells at the Cathedral in
St. Paul will ring 82 times, in honor fothe 82 people who die each day in
our country because of gun violence.

> Bells will toll around the country to remember those who have died--and to
try to wake up those of us who stand back and let the gun violence continue.
Million Moms and the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence are organizing
the National Day of Remembrance. We hope you will join us, on the steps of
the Cathedral in St. Paul on Tuesday at noon. The Cathedral is a few blocks
south of the State Capitol-- take the Marion Street exit from Highway 94;
turn right and go two blocks west on John Ireland Boulevard.
>
> We want people to hear the bells--and to take a stand against the gun
violence that kills one person every 17 minutes.
