I have to completely agree with Wizard, here.
Just about any writer, except maybe Cheri Pierson Yecke, would be a better choice than Kersten. I was absolutely astonished to read her educational and professional biography, as outlined by Star Tribune editor Anders Gyllenhaal. How could anyone with that background be so completely incapable of putting several rational, accurate sentences together in one paragraph, much less a column? Her writing is 2 parts nonsense, 1 part misinformation and 1 part opinion.
I vote they hire Constance Nompelis or Eva Young to write for them instead. Either would do a far better job and would make for much more interesting reading.
One other quirk: Kersten's bio did not mention being an ordained minister at all, but is that not the case? If so, why was it omitted?
