Seems to be a lot of rule-breaking junk on the list lately. I'm on vacation so I'll ladle out warnings when I get back.
But, to recap the thousand or so posts I've sent on these subjects previously... If you call out another member by name (and think you can represent his or her thought processes), it's probably a personal attack. Don't do it. If you want to name-call people you disagree with, it breaks list rules. Don't do it - even if you're mad about smoking, NRP or whatever else is your personal addiction/compulsion. If it's not a local issue, don't bring it up here. That includes national and state stuff where a Minneapolitan has a vote or two. This is for issues unique to Minneapolis. Take the larger stuff elsewhere, or risk warnings (this one is especially frustrating lately). If things devolve into non-locally-specific ideological debates, you must take it off list. The place to count ideological angels on the head of a pin is elsewhere. Finally, the flag debate has again become not locally specific. End it, or warnings/expulsions will follow. I won't give anyone a break on this one. David Brauer List manager REMINDERS: 1. Be civil! Please read the NEW RULES at http://www.e-democracy.org/rules.
