Does anyone remember the StarTribune story about the City Hall flag?
Flags whip around in the wind and tend to wear out at the ends first. Well the guy at the Municipal Building Commission (those are the folks who run City Hall) would trim the scruffy strings at the end so the flags would last longer. Well he was also pretty cheap and would trim them until they were square or even started becoming rectangular the other direction. The StarTribune apparently ran a series of pictures taken over a number of weeks of the amazing disappearing flag atop City Hall.
