I just got back from the Minneapolis Ward 2 convention (was helping
today on a campaign).

After 5 ballots, Cara Letofsky won the endorsement. Ballots 4 & 5 were
about 56% for Cara and 42% for Dan Miller. At the end of the 5th ballot,
Dan did something that always amazes me when it happens - he stood up in
front of the convention and in the interest of party unity, put his
support behind Cara, pulling himself out of the race.

Scenes like that, make me proud to be a DFLer. Far too often we allow
our party to divide and in the process, help our opponents. Dan should
be commended for his actions and class in working for the greater good
of the party.

I wish Cara the best in her run for council and look forward to a
unified DFL in November!
