Robert Lilligren was unanimously endorsed on a voice vote at today's 6th Ward
DFL convention. The mood was upbeat and many office holders and candidates
addressed the crowd. Speaking on behalf of Robert were Dean Kallenbach (2001
DFL endorsed 6th Ward candidate), School Board member Peggy Flanagan (like
Robert a member of the White Earth Band of Ojibwe), and Rep. Karen Clark.
County Commissioner Gail Dorfman praised Robert as a strong ally and friend in
City Hall.

The convention was held at the events center of the Van Dusen mansion. With
such stylish surroundings and an excellent breakfast served by the DFL SD 61
the Ward 6 convention is claiming the title "Classiest Ward Convention".

The hit of the convention (besides Robert) were his campaign's "little head"
pins. They're TINY pictures of Robert on his cell phone and they are hilarious.
The motion made from the floor to declare them the "cutest and campiest"
campaign buttons passed nearly unanimously.

Robert stressed his campaign theme of One Community in his speech. He also
announced that he has received a fellowship to return to Harvard's Kennedy
School of government for an intensive training in negotiations! This
endorsement adds to the considerable momentum around the Lilligren campaign.

We are lucky to have such a hard-working, smart and FUN candidate in the 6th
Ward. Go Robert!
