Sitting on my front stoop this morning, I paid little
attention to the firetrucks racing down 28th, and then
Park, since that's a pretty normal occurance. When I
saw a huge black cloud of smoke billowing out from
behind Abbot Northwestern, I sat up straight.
That's the direction of my old neighborhood, so my
husband and I jumped into the car and drove over
there. Sure enough, the fire was on Bloomington,
between 25th and 26th. (Wasn't it just recently that
the Commodore burned down over there?)
We couldn't get close enough to see if it was the
coffee shop south of SA or a house or what.
Anyone from Ventura Village, Village in Phillips, or
wherever, please tell us what happened!
