The policing downtown at > night seems more than adequate right now. Whenever I go out downtown I see > groups of as many as 4-5 officers standing around talking. Maybe they need > to spread out and cover areas that need it more. But I suppose we do have > to keep the party scene safe and the liquor tax revenue flowing... > > Mike Jensvold > Ward 10 > MN: To be fair after my previous rant about Phillips, I must say that another neighborhood I avoid is the area downtown from 7th St. to Washington, and Hennepin to 3rd. I thought they tore down Block E to get rid of the crime. After looking at crime statistics, and observing the area, it seems the only thing that changed is the buildings. I never had any trouble at Moby's, but the Hard Rock? Looks like there's been a little too much action outside that place. You couldn't pay me to go into a place on 1st Ave on a Friday these days. I can't think of too many things more dangerous than a pack of liquored up frat boys. Give me a bar full of bikers any day. Is that discrimination?
