I found Bill Kahn's post both inaccurate as well as amusing. Perhaps Bill should have read several of my previous posts on the subject, or perhaps he did and just was unable to understand what I actually said. But Bill, please read slowly so as to not miss this. I said the stormwater change was probably a good idea, but our "Executives" had screwed up a good idea, by unfairly charging poor neighborhood residents. In particular those who own duplexes with small footprints and no garage or paved driveway were being cheated. One more time, so you get it correct. JIM GRAHAM THINKS THE STORMWATER CHARGING IS A GOOD IDEA THAT HAS BEEN TOTALLY BUNGLED BY INEPT POLITICIANS MISMANAGING IT! (I know using all caps is not the same as raising your voice, but that is as close as the "List" medium allows.)

I think the City of Minneapolis, because of miss-management, is stealing from those poor people to the benefit of more affluent single family homeowners with large garages, big driveways, and paved patios. Is this intentional, or simply ineptness and mismanagement? That is the question! Perhaps Mr. Kahn and some doubting people could answer that? On "List", if you please.

So Mr. Kahn, exactly what were the "factually inaccurate" statements you refer to? Which ones does Mr.Kahn think was lying? Lots of people have written in listing the fraud being perpetrated. (No, I am not afraid to say fraud, because the City "Executive" has had adequate warning and time to have attempted to fix this problem. They did not! It is now "Executive" condoned fraud upon poor people).

So one more time so no one misses it. What was inaccurate?

Are many people being unfairly charged? Ahhh, that would be YES!

Does this unfairness fall heaviest upon owners of small footprint duplexes that predominate in poor impacted neighborhoods? Ahhh, that would also be a YES!

Have the political leaders been notified of this inequity and injustice? Ahhh, that would be a YES!

Has the Mayor or the CM's done anything to fix this problem they have created? Ahhh, that would be a NO!

Are the voters of Minneapolis going to let this robbery continue? Ahhh, that is a question, but I am betting on the fairness of the rest of the City to demand that the City of Minneapolis be just. If not, then I am betting the Attorney General, or a eager "Class Action" lawyer will convince the politicians and the City that they should not be cheating people. Hey, I got another off list e-mail from someone being cheated, wanting to join such a suit, and asking me to find the lawyer.

By the way calling someone a liar is not nice, especially when they have in their hand the proof they are being unfairly charged in the form of a waterbill. We are not talking about opinion here! But someone arguing about the real numbers someone is being charged? The absurdity of it is self evident, and comical as all get out.

I am sure Nick Coleman got a kick out of the "false bravado" comment of Mr. Kahn. In that at least Kahn was correct. Just so Mr. Kahn knows, bravado is defined as "false bravery". "False Bravado" would be the opposite. So thank you from Nick, and myself. You are correct Mr. Kahn, Nick Coleman and I were "Brave" enough to take on the issue. Though we might not always agree, Nick Coleman and I do seem to be similar in the aspect of not being afraid to take on issues of unfairness.

If, however, Mr. Kahn intended something else, then I would ask him to check with some other people. I believe most folks would tell you that Jim Graham never ducked a fight in his life. Unfortunately just the opposite, and my poor nose being broken 12 times probably is the result of it. (Though each was worth it, and taught me to set broken noses equal to most doctors). So if Mr. Kahn intended that as a compliment, I thank you sir. I refuse to believe it was "issued" as an insult until proven wrong.

Stealing from poor people just is not nice. And it is not ethical. Minneapolis needs politicians that believe in the "Praxis of Ethics", not those who only speak the "Theory of Ethics". Minneapolis politics needs a little more BEEF, and a whole lot less BULLogna!

Jim Graham,
from the "Inside" tonight in Ventura Village

"The rarest of gems, with the greatest clarity,
and with the greatest brilliance is not the diamond.
The rarest of all gems is the truth.

Yet as scarce as truth is, the supply has always far

exceeded any demand for it. In fact it may well be

the lest desirable commodity in the Universe.
