A group of MAPE and AFSCME members will march together in the Free Speech Section of the May Day Parade on Sunday May 1st. The parade goes south down Bloomington Ave. from to Powderhorn Park in Minneapolis. The parade starts at 1PM. If you have never been to the parade and are curious about it go here
http://www.heartofthebeasttheatre.org/mayday/index.html The public employee bloc of AFSCME and MAPE marchers will meet at 25th and Bloomington, near the site of the old Commordore Bar (now burned out), watch the parade, then jump into the "free speech" section to march in the parade. It's about a one mile walk from the start of the parade to the end. Family and children are welcome to march with us. If you are interested in marching as a proud public employee, please contact me by email or just show up at 25th and Bloomington around 1PM. Look for AFSCME and MAPE signs and banners. It's a fun event, and this being Minnesota, it is spring!--regardless of the weather. Join us. . . . Russell Raczkowski Bancroft (MAPE Local 1304 President) REMINDERS: 1. Be civil!
