As expected, 8th Ward DFLers did not endorse a City Council candidate at their convention at Martin Luther King Park on Saturday. After a sixth ballot that had Elizabeth Glidden winning 43 percent of the vote to Jeffrey Hayden's 42 percent, the gathering adjourned, setting the stage for a packed primary election in September.
