I wholeheartedly agree. I think those that support the tax for the new stadium and tell us how "the tax will go away" (as if by magic) once the bonds are paid off are delusional. Once a tax is applied, it's here to stay.
Why I don't support the stadium tax scheme is this (and I'm a huge sports fan): a dedicated sales tax for the stadium will give more credence to a whole bunch of additional dedicated taxes for this and that. I guarantee that, if the dedicated sales tax for the stadium is approved, it will be a matter of weeks until another dedicated sales tax for _________________ will be demanded.
