My campaign manager asked Park Board Candidates to weigh in on how to make
the MPRB more transparent. Jim Bernstein's answers were great and really a
template for a better Park Board.

The Park Board is transparency challenged in a number of ways.

To Jim's list I would add:
A budget with detail of program expenses, email addresses for all
Commissioners, and email address for the Board, a system and structure for
response to
correspondence, a staff directory, some location where questions are actually
answered in a timely fashion and an accurate recording of Park History.

Speaking of answering questions, one of my favorite things in the whole
world is the ability call up the Library to ask a librarian a question about
anything and they have a source and the answer. The formula for compound
angles
of roof pitch, the origin of the Bell Museum, the percentage of available
drinking water, neighborhood demographics...you just have to ask.

Thanks,
Scott Vreeland Seward
