I don't recall seeing any postings on this new museum or any coverage in the Star Tribune or other local media than the Spokesman-Recorder but I may have missed it.
--------------------------------------------------- African American Historical and Civil Rights Museum opens in Minneapolis
Speaking of new museums, The Museum Of Russian Art (http://www.tmora.org) opens to the public tomorrow morning (Monday, May 9) at 9:00am. It's located at 5500 Stevens Avenue South (corner of Diamond Lake Road and 35W).
I guess technically, it's a "re-opening" but it is so much more than it was before, in a new location and completely renovated beautiful building, it's like a new opening.
It's featured exhibition is "In the Russian Tradition," an exhibition which has been on loan to the Smithsonian.
Two new museums in Minneapolis. Is this a great town, or what?
