Unfortunately our representative seems to have shifted
interest to bringing home our own share of the
military pork and futher militarizing our local
economy. Not my choice but I guess the theory is jobs
are jobs even if they are jobs building tanks and/or
tank parts the military doesn't even want.
A change in representation in Congress may be required
if we expect this kind of response. Our current
representation has accepted a few too many donations
from our own local purveyors of weapons of minor and
mass destruction.
I assume that the donations from Alliant Tech Systems
had something to do with his dropping off the bill
supporting ratification of the international treaty to
ban landmines(at least until local activist raised a
significant stink over the betrayral).
