I want to thank all the committed delegates who spent their entire day at the DFL convention. I just walked in the door at 10:00. Both Peter and R.T. ran strong floor campaigns today and showed the great people of Minneapolis what good politics is all about. With all of it's chaotic moments it was a proud day for democracy in Minneapolis and I was proud to be a part of it. The convention adjourned as Peter was clearly moving toward endorsement. R.T. "left the building" with his supporters in a defensive move to break quorum. I think the people that ran the convention did a tremendous job. Robert's Rules of Order got a good work out today. It was a great idea to elect delegates the year of the city elections. I think todays record attendance was proof that it was as Martha would say "a good thing". Todays attendance was the largest at a city election year convention in years if not ever. Barb Lickness Whittier Ward 6 - (Where Peter out polled R.T. more than 2 to 1)
