It is an eternally frustrating aspect of communication that you write something
that you believe could not be more clear and see, time and again, that people
nevertheless read what you say in so many different ways from what you thought
you were saying, indeed including some just quite the opposite.

To forestall further anxieties among Mpls-Issues readers, I would like to say
explicitly that I do not judge the value of the lives of Senator Wellstone and
his fellow passengers to be equivalent to that of carrion. There, I hope
that's clear. If anyone wants to come over, I can show you my Wellstone sign
that I just took down a few months ago.

Let me continue by saying that I do not think well of people who are focused on
certain personal goals of achieving power and influence, and for whom the path
to achieve those goals has no moral content. And let me offer the hint that if
you keep this in mind when you read my last post, you may understand my
reference to "carrion," whether physical or political.

Finally, I do genuinely apologize for what now clearly is not a Minneapolis
issue.

Calling the Senator and other deceased "carrion"
is disgusting. Please retract.
