I sincerely hope that we can begin to see that this is not about books in
the dumpster. It is about serving the public with the highest quality of
services the system can offer given its severely limited resources. We are
in a very serious revenue crunch in the Minneapolis library system. We
need every person to help us get those revenues back Laura Waterman

It is about books being in a dumpster...and it is very easy to say...we need
more money
from government, every service in the city needs more money.
This action did not require more or less money from the
government.
Yes, the library is understaffed and stressed, but decisions could have be
made that take about the same amount of energy and would have been a better
use of
resources. The ordinance can be changed with an admendment by the City
Council..
it is not rocket science.
If the library choses to continue this same policy...so be it. Just let us
know when you are going to dump so we can be ready with our boxes. One post
to the
list would suffice...we will get the word out...how much does that cost?
