Is it an issue? Libraries have to off-load books in order to buy books.
Their space is finite. If you won't buy the books from them in the used
book store the Friends operate, they have no choice but to toss them.
Maybe the Library Board was an easy run for office with few issues before, but
not now, so those of you running for library board had better be ready to
answer questions.
And maybe you have no idea what you're talking about. So far that's the
impression I get from your posts on this issue. Further, you're
threatening people for no good reason. What if they don't answer your
questions? Then what? What is the nature of your threat, a punch in the
nose? A vow to get the entire city to vote against them? Can you pull
that off? I have my doubts.
And as a final remark, I'd like to note that Ms. Wittstock's blog http://laurawatermanwittstock.blogspot.com/ , while decently designed, lacks any mention of topics related to the libraries, despite the fact that she currently serves on the library board.
Ms. Wittstocks's blog is her personal blog. Whether you are aware of it
or not, Laura Waterman Wittstock, who until her retirement a couple of
months ago ran Migizi Communications, sat/sits on umpteen boards of
directors, was and probably still is a major player in the Indian
community (being an elder of said community), has more friends than she
can count spread all over the nation to keep in touch with, and has just
retired to do what she wants. She cannot include the library in her blog
because it's her personal blog and she is only one representative of the
library, not the whole shebang. The other members of the board would
have issues if anyone were to assume Laura's personal blog was speaking
for the library board.
