David Brauer writes, "How is this different from, say, local candidates who have union officials as key advisors, who may have leased space from unions, whose aides cycle between unions and the halls of government, and whose campaign managers are union employees on leave, or who end up taking union organizing jobs after the race?
I don't know what goes on in Minneapolis, but in my 25 years of St. Paul politics I have never seen an instance like this. Does Mr. Brauer have any specific instances where this has occurred, with actual names or is his post merely illustrative? Lambrecht and his partner, Rick Pogin, stand to make over $20 million dollars on the Twins Stadium - "Twinsville" deal. http://www.twincities.com/mld/pioneerpress/news/local/11713484.htm http://www.startribune.com/stories/465/5373354.html I think before we look for other scapegoats, or let Lambrecht, Stenglein and Pogin off the hook, the question is, will any public official with the power to investigate this matter, have the courage to step to the plate. Will Hennepin County Attorney Amy Klobuchar or Attorney General Mike Hatch look into this stink or will it end with Mr. Kazuba and the Star-Tribune?
