I don't know what world you live in Mike but I took a big cut in pay to work
for the Government instead of the private sector where I was working. My pay
and benefits were way better in the private sector. I know I am not the only
government employee that says this. Most the city employees I know that left
their government job for a private sector job are doing way better pay and
benefit wise than they were working for the city.

I work for the government because I believe passionately in the program I work
for. I feel like I am contributing to the betterment of Minneapolis and helping
to keep this city a great city. Those were important reasons why I was willing
to take a job making less money than before.

If you think we make too much money, do a comparison of some of our salaries
and benefits to what those same jobs pay in private sector companies.
