Three squads of police for one lone man with campaign literature? Sounds like a riot to me!

This happened at the Target Center last year when someone was kicked off the sidewalk by the
police, being told it was not public property.

When is public property considered not public property? When and where can you have freedom of speech? Politics aside on this issue, we have a first amendment issue and a misuse of power by both the Park Superintendent and the Police force. It will be interesting to see what the ACLU
comes up with.

Now considering the political aspect....would Gurban have done this if it had been Carol?

In the "spirit of cooperation", Stone then moved at least a hundred feet from the recreation center entrance, to a spot on the sidewalk just a couple feet from the parking lot. Three police squad cars arrived simultaneously just five minutes after the original conversation with Gurban. Stone greeted the police and asked if he was acting unlawfully. Stone noted, "The officers respectfully, but forcefully ordered me to stop distributing literature, and said I could not do so on private land. I corrected them, indicating that we were standing on public land. They
replied 'sort of', and that I had to stop distributing literature."
