I enjoyed reading David.B's most recent editorial in his Southwest Journal;
and easily agree with his prescribed remedy for the MPB. I regret he did not
allude to the matter of selective enforcement of Park Board "rules".

It has been noted, at The List, that Park officials have routinely witnessed
CWOP, campaigning with/out permit, and not called in the SWAT Team to
interdict offenders. Selective enforcement (which I thank List Posters for
highlighting) based on political preference, is a huge civil liberties assault.
It is
also typical behavior of a Political Machine. One tiny tyranny was spotlighted;
one tiny tick/tock of the gears of the DFL Machine was put in front of the
public eye.

By the way, is there one local politician, with soul so dead, that he/she
never campaigned in our Parks, by a flower bed? Yet, has even one, solo,
strolling politician EVER "pulled" a permit?
