The Prospect Park East River Road neighborhood has adopted its action plan under NRP-2. Some of the highlights of our Action Plan are:

** $152,225 for Home Improvement and Affordable Housing (loan programs as well as finding "innovative ways to provide affordable housing") ** $58,000 in transitional funding for Pratt School (to pay for several staff positions until regular school funding becomes available) ** $35,000 for an educational program for Somali families to teach the process of how to buy a home in America

Recommended expenditures total $347,866 and include a variety of other projects including history, education, aid for seniors, and other programs. The Action Plan needs to be approved by PPERRIA (the neighborhood's fiscal agent), the NRP policy board, and the City Council.

The work was the culmination of the work of a Steering Committee elected by the neighborhood last October and which has been meeting multiple times for each month since then to reach its recommendations.
