It seems that every Saturday and Sunday the air fills

Either last summer or the previous summer, an "evangelist" (I think he
was an evangelist wannabe, but he was an offensive sucker, nonetheless)
set himself up in the parking lot of Goodyear Tire across Lake St. with
a bull horn and proceeded to rail against homosexuals with astonishing
vituperation. With windows closed we were still subjected to one guy's
notion of street preaching. I called the city EPA office and they
removed the guy and kept him removed.
However, if you live in areas where store front churches are much in
evidence, yes, there will be soul liberation, tent revivals, etc.
through the spring, summer, and fall. Most of these store front churches
are attended by AfAmer people around Phillips and Central, but in other
parts of the country that does not necessarily obtain. Many a
stem-winder of a preacher has exhorted all comers about going "filthy
before the lord." (The entire quote is: "If you're caught addin' to the
Bible [hunnnnh], or takin' away from the Bible [hunnnh], you're gonna go
filthy, I said filthy, before the lord, brothers and sisters.") Rip
roarin,' ain't it?
