difference in skin color among members of the human
race is simply the ability of people living in
differing climates to absorb vitamin D3 from the Sun.
The human body simply evolved so that peoples from
wherever would get the right amount. The apparent
exception of the darker skinned Northern natives
(Eskimos, Inuit etc.) can be explained by the fact
that their diet of whale, seal etc. contains a goodly
portion of that vitamin.
Scientists knew there had to be a simple
explanation and this one is fitting like a glove
wherever it is applied. Stories over folks. We're all
the same, even in how much D3 we suck up.
This information and much more can be found in a
hilarious article in the latest Harpers Called "Mighty
White of You" by Jack Hitt. It's about attempts to
make the first American a Caucasion.
