As many of you know, I began my quest for a seat on the Board of Estimate and Taxation earlier this year. My motivations for this somewhat obscure office have been clear - I am a public policy geek who likes to talk about taxes and debt policy.

At that same time, long-time incumbent Gordon Nelson and newcomer Jill Schwimmer also announced their candidacies for these two seats. I have heard both speak to their backgrounds and motivations. With filing, however, four more individuals put their hats in the ring for this office. I'm not familiar with all of them and what would attract them to this office. They are: Geno Bassett; Matthew Jones; Ted Cabana; and Dave Berger.

So I'm wondering if anyone has info on any of these folks and why they would want to be on this Board. Off-line answers would be great.

Thanks

Carol
