Yellow water. It seems to be the result of the Fire Dept opening up a lot
of hydrants to get water to water small Park Board trees on the boulevard.

Dean,

I called Water Quality (661-4999) and asked them about this. They
explained that this is iron sediment that has been "stirred up" by the
heat related high demand usage of water from hydrants by Public Works
tanker trucks for watering trees and newly planted landscaping, etc.
While the water looks, smells and tastes icky for about 24 hours it is
NOT harmful.

This morning houses in my neighborhood had quite the experience. Bright

yellow water from the tap. Nasty water that left sinks with a residue
when
you drained them. I suppose the City was doing something to the main,
but
it was yucky to say the least. It had cleared up by tonight, but left a

foul taste after discovering it while brushing one's teeth.
