If a candidate is being held where wi-fi or a wired Internet connection can be found, it can be webcast live and recorded in MP3 for on-demand streaming and podcasting.
One the "work" side of my life I've led the development of a prototype "Democaster" system using mostly open source tools. We used it with the e-democracy symposium and it worked: http://dowire.org/wiki/Symposium_webcast The tool could use some more field testing ... so if anyone what to make some of these candidates more accessible "on-demand", drop me a note: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Cheers, Steven Clift Ericsson P.S. It can also be used to capture webcam images during an event. Viewing/listening is easy. Along with a net connection, producing an event takes a laptop and Winamp with the Oddcast plug-in and off course access to the sound system or good placement of a "border" microphone. ^ ^ ^ ^ Steven L.
