The decision to treat candidate address, phone number, and e-mail
address as "private data" is absurd!

If you file for public office, the public has an absolute right to know
this basic information and to be able to contact candidates. When you
run for public office, you do surrender a little bit of privacy and
anonymity but that goes with the territory. When you file at the
Elections Office and you provide that information, you are quite aware
that it is now in the public domain. It should remain there.

For the record, I live at 5216 Ewing Ave. So., my phone number is
612-922-6354, me e-mail address is [EMAIL PROTECTED], my website is at
bernsteinforparks.org and, you may contact me at anytime!

Subject: [Mpls] Minneapolis Candidate Filings Information

I have been informed by the city that details about candidates are no
longer available, including address, phone number and e-mail address.
The Minnesota E-Democracy list is incomplete. Is there anywhere that
has all the candidate contact information, including e-mail?

Hi Gene: I just wanted to give you a brief update: Our Data Privacy
Authority within the city has now informed us that private data is
private no matter how we collect it. In a previous email to you, I said
the information may be available on the Statement of Economic Interest -
and that is now no longer the case.
