Hi Folks –
Getting to the Bottom of the Ballot (GetBoB) has several events
scheduled that will be great events for Minneapolis residents and
candidates for Minneapolis office. Please pass along the info to
anyone and everyone.
The first event is a fantastic opportunity for folks to get a better
understanding of Minneapolis government.
Voting for the boards: Understanding Minneapolis city government before
you vote
A nonpartisan panel discussion about Minneapolis’s Board of Estimate &
Taxation, Park & Recreation Board, and Library Board
When: Wednesday August 31, 7-9pm.
Where: Temple Israel (2324 Emerson Avenue South -- 24th and Hennepin)
Following that forum, we are hosting two candidate fairs. We’ve
invited all candidates for city office to participate. These are great
opportunities to talk with candidates one-on-one or in a small group
atmosphere – we want civic participation to be welcoming, not
intimidating. Candidates will have tables to display their wares and
chat with voters about their stances on issues, their backgrounds, or
their favorite ice cream flavors – whatever topics arise. We’ll even
provide root beer floats.
Candidate fairs will be:
Primary Election Candidate Fair
Wednesday, September 7 -- 7-9pm
General Election Candidate Fair
Wednesday, October 26 -- 7-9pm
Both candidate fairs will be held at:
DeLaSalle High School gymnasium
One DeLaSalle Drive
Minneapolis, MN 55401
Please forward this information to any and all who might be interested
(PDF flyers available by contacting us). More information is available
at www.getbob.org or by contacting us at 612.327.9180 or

For those candidates reading this who have not yet received an
invitation to participate in the fairs, please contact us soon!
