This is my first post to this forum. I have found the forum very
informative, and I had hoped that my first post could have been
about something of greater substance and general interest than
this.

Unfortunately, I have to respond in my defense to the post below.

I want to assure Dan and everyone else who has read this, that I
did NOT make the change to the e-democracy candidate website
that he describes. Neither did my campaign manager, with whom I
was meeting at the time this happened. I've checked my IP
address, and was of course greatly relieved to find that it is not
63.228.6.203. According to my son, the computer whiz, it is
virtually impossible for an ordinary citizen to trace that IP address
back to its owner.

So we'll probably never know who it was who erased that data and
added mine. I can assure you that neither I nor my campaign
manager did it, nor did we ask or authorize anyone else to edit the
candidate data in any way. I think anyone who knows me
personally knows that I have too much integrity to engage in any
form of campaign dirty tricks.

It is conceivable that some supporter of mine took it upon
themselves to add my data. My son says it wouldn't be that hard
for an inexperienced person to accidentally delete someone else's
data when adding new data. If that is what happened, I sincerely
apologize on their behalf.

Dan, I can understand why you would have assumed that my
campaign was responsible for this. But if anything like this should
happen in the future, please check with me before posting your
concerns publicly. Incidentally, thanks for making the correction -
and for leaving my information in place.

I hope that we can all run clean campaigns and concentrate on the
issues, which is what the voters of the 9th Ward deserve.
