Listers:
I have to laugh every time I go through the intersection of 42nd St. and
4th Av. The two corner yards (east side of 4th) each have both Tift and
Hayden signs (both running for 8th ward CM). Quelle hooty hoot!
According to one of the homeowners on the corner, he supports Hayden.
When asked why the Tift sign was still there, he said the guy "pestered"
him 'til he let him plant the sign. (It should be noted that the Tift
sign was up first; however, I was really surprised that the family on
that corner would support Tift. Hence my question about the two signs.)
Before anyone goes ape caca about this, remember signs don't vote, at
least not in MN. (But in Illinois I could not make so sure a statement.)
Aside: My favorite political sign memory was of walking through a jungle
in southern Chiapis, the southernmost state in Mexico, and finding
graffiti saying, "Las Mujers de Mexico por Lopez Portio." Nobody seemed
to live back in that jungle, so I guess the signs were for the howler
monkeys and the jaguars (animal, not auto).
