I phoned MPRB today, and was informed by Judd
Rietkerk, Director Of Planning, that East Island
Ave. would not be closed by the proposed DeLasalle
project.

Originally, I was confused as to exactly which
portions of which streets would be closed. So, I
emailed Commissioner Mason, and she forwarded my
question to MPRB staff. Don Siggelkow, MPRB General
Manager, replied with a note that indicated the
closing of a segment of East Island Ave. Questioning
this reply, I emailed again. And received a second
reply from Mr Sigglekow, again indicating the closing
of a segment of E. Island Ave.

Then after receiving several messages from credible
sources doubting this statement, I emailed Mr.
Siggelkow a third time - and have not yet received a
reply to this third email. And actually, since
talking to Mr. Rietkerk on the phone today, I now
feel comfortable that I have the answer to the street
closing question. However, I must say that I am
rather dismaying at being given bad information, and
needlessly causing unease in a number of folks.
