And lets call Shegstad and see how he feels on GLBT issues....would he

flop"??
If you really want to know, why don't you do as you suggest, and call him?
This is a guaranteed dead end that serves Schiff and disadvantages
Shegstad. The reply, oft repeated by all minority groups, is that the
real McCoy is better than a sympathetic outsider. This is not uniformly
true, unfortunately, and various groups are, at times, saddled with poor
real McCoys representing us.
The questions voters might want to ask themselves could include: Is this
one running just because he wants to be a politician and have power? Who
does he want the power for, himself or his constituents? When you meet
him or her can you read the person and get an understanding of the
person? How does that person behave and talk when not on the hustings?
This is voter leg work and the LWV, the candidates, and the parties
cannot help a voter do this. I don't believe you can really perceive who
to vote for without meeting that person in the flesh. Makes voting for
governor and president kinda silly, but there it is.
I don't have a vested interest in the 9th ward race, but in my own ward
I have done that to make a choice. So I'm voting for Hayden as of
today's date. (I really never make up my mind 'til I have the ballot in
my hand and I'll write in if I have to).
